Lung Cancer Awareness Month
We dedicated time this month to host a podcast on Lung Cancer Awareness and the impacts in the African American community. Listen in as I dialog with Sonia Salmon-Gayle, Founder of Cinderella Cares, a Lung Cancer non profit and Marla Smith, a Rare Disease expert.
Unfortunately, lung cancer is no stranger to adults, especially in the African American community. Leading all other groups, lung cancer is taking its toll on our parents, friends, neighbors and colleagues. With over 200,00 new cases per year, unfortunately, lung cancer isn’t a part of a normal health screening.
We advocate taking the wellness steps necessary annually to know where you are. And, by the way, did you know that you can get lung cancer without ever smoking?
